What a great night Friday was at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park. Stolen Rhodes was proud and honored to have the opportunity to open up for Bronx based Irish rock legends Black 47. Stolen Rhodes was the second band to perform Friday night and they pulled no punches with a 40 minute balls to the wall opening set that saw Peacemaker find its way back to opener status, and saw the band blaze right through their first four songs of the night like an out of control freight train.
Friday was also big as SR brought in a film crew to record the entire show as part of a larger documentary being put together by band friend Rich Adragna. The band was on and energetic (despite Dan being sick as all hell) and clips from the show will be available shortly, along with documentary clips.
By the end of the show the crowd was chanting "one more song" though in tasteful form the band did not encore (unwritten rule: opening bands never encore).
Set List
Peacemaker
Life Was Never Finer
Spirit in the Night (B. Springsteen)
One Day Everyday
Idle Ways
Falling off the Edge
Keeps Us Moving
About an hour and a half later the headliners Black 47 took the stage, and what a performance they put on. There was energy, there was dancing, there was some sort of bagpipe looking instrument, there was funky bass solos...what a show. What a great band. We were just pleased and honored to be able to play with them that night, and everyone involved had a great time.

Kenny's Castaways 01.30.10
Hey everyone,
We'd like to thank everyone who came out to Kenny's Castaways on Saturday night for our first show in NYC of 2010. Saturday's night set was quite energetic from the band. We switched up things a little, with Faded Pictures making its first appearance as a show opener. The energy didn't dull until the fifth song in as we followed Faded Pictures with Life Was Never Finer, Spirit in the Night, and One Day Everyday all in succession. Peacemaker also remained towards the end of the set, a place where it is likely to stay for a while. By the end of the set a nice crowd had gathered towards the front of Kenny's as the people there for the other bands were singing along to the chorus of Keeps Us Moving. As of now we won't be back in NYC until March 3 when we will be playing at the Shrine Bar in Harlem. As always follow us at FB, Myspace, and Twitter for updates. Also www.stolenrhodes.com will be launching soon, as Matt is building the website as we speak.

Also if anyone would like advance tickets for our February 19 show at the Stone Pony with Black 47, or advance tickets for our February 27 show at Milkboy Live please contact Dan, Kevin, Matt, or Ian. We hope to see everyone there.
In other SR news, Dan did a little moonlighting this weekend, as he performed with old college buddy and avid SR fan Michelangelo Quirinale and his band for the Brooklyn Guitar School's student showcase. The group performed a set of Led Zeppelin tunes including Whole Lotta Love, Houses of the Holy, No Quarter, Achilles Last Stand, and Kashmir. We'll be playing at the Nail in Ardmore, PA this Friday. Hope to see you there.
